Wedding Cake

I thought for sure I was biting off way more than I could chew here....

I was browsing through amazing gallery, learned how to make roses, learned how to color my clay (yey!) with pastels, and then my mum saw all the little wedding cake replicas, and asked if I could make one of her Wedding cake. Annnnd here it is! Whew, I like modern cakes. so simple, so asymmetrical. These ones...waaay not.

The cake is made with sculpey clay colored with chalk pastels, and painted with TLS with a little oil paint to get it back to a nice white (white sculpey sucks lint out of the air, I tell you!). It is 2 1/2 inches tall (including the topper) and 2 inches in diameter on the widest tier. Dont look too close, cuz its a liiiiitle lopsided....bah.

Roses are fun! I now pride myself that I can make a rose half the size of the nail on my pinky in less than a minute. yey!

Took two days, maybe twelve hours. Ive never done anything like this before, so I had to try 5 different ways EACH to figure out how to get the draping and edge frosting to look even remotely right.
